We all have so many things in common graduating in 1973 at Stevens High School. Life is a humbling experience, and at this age I find myself being more thankful every day for the good people that have been a part of my life. As I reflect upon the high school years, I realize now that they were just the starting point of a change that was taking me from a terrible student to a more confident student, and person. We were blessed to have so many good teachers for the high school classes, and I am truly thankful for all of them. I honestly don't remember too many of them that I did't like, and appreciate. Even the mandatory speech class teacher in 10th grade was good, but I was really scared about the speeches so I have forgotten her name. Most of you weren't shy and probably got a good chuckle about kids like me in those years, and I don't blame you. Believe me I have learned to be able to laugh at myself also, and have found that none of us should take ourselves so serious that we miss out on it. But I am looking forward to remembering and laughing at the experiences that we shared, and maybe plenty of them that we didn't realize happened. Hopefully we will have a good turnout for our 50th reunion, many will have to travel further than I do, as we are only 350 miles from Rapid City at Columbus, Montana. I probably should mention that I worked as a miner in underground gold, and platinum mines for the last 47-1/2 years and just retired last year. My wife Carol is a retired childcare teacher, and we are celebrating our 40th anniversary this summer. We have 2 children who are married now, and just starting to have children, and plans of children. We are planning on attending all of the reunion events, and looking forward to seeing all of you again. Walt
