I attended 1st through 8th grade at Cleghorn elementary, then 9th grade at West junior high
and was a sophomore at Steven's High school.
In the summer of 1971, my family purchased my grandparent's farm along Owl creek in Nisland, SD. I graduated from Newell High school in 1973 & graduated from the first Associate RN 2 year degree program at DWU in Mitchell, SD in 1975.
Married an Arizona basketball athlete who was attending Mt Marty in Yankton. SD. in 1975.
Worked as RN at the Human services center in Yankton for a year then moved back west river to Custer, Ft Meade VAMC, BH workshop & RC Medical center and Sioux San IHS.
Welcomed a son in 1979 and 2 daughters in 1981 & 1984.Returned to school via SDSU west river satellite program, receiving a BS in nursing in 1994 and Masters in 1997 with a family nurse practitioner certification. Built our cabin in 1983 in Black Hawk, SD. and still reside there! We have 5 granddaughters & 2 grandsons! I retired in 2022!
